Another Normal Person
A slab-built and hand-painted decorative plate with slip trail detailing. Again, this piece was inspired by that dreamy scene from ‘Normal People’ that you can find if you google ‘Paul Mescal nude’. Not that I googled that. And no, this guy doesn’t look much like him at all but you get the idea with the alluring languid pose of him. Stay tuned for some ‘Fassbender in Shame’ platters in the new year.
Please note that this is a handmade art piece and so will have irregularities and a personality that commercial pottery will not. This piece is made from a professional grade white stoneware clay fired to 1250C. After a bisque fire, decoration was hand painted in a loose style with underglaze, finished with a transparent glossy glaze and fired for a second time.

This art piece is completely unique and has all of its own curves and bulges and perfect imperfections.

Inspired and informed by traditional ceramic shapes, but slab, pinch or coil-built to create a modern take on a traditional vessel. Each piece is handmade and bisque-fired, then decorated with loose paintings on each piece to create an original work of art.
The illustrations are inspired by all sorts, including racy scenes on popular TV .
